RESUME
about me
Growing up in a large Italian family, there was never a lack of colorful characters or situations to draw upon when I first started writing, especially after moving to NYC in the 80s to pursue a career as a playwright. Only the names in my plays were changed to protect myself from being ousted from my family, worse yet, whacked by a great uncle who was a member of the mob—True story! But he’s dead now, so… My
creative sensibility began to change when I experienced NYC in the 80s; a filthy, homicide record high, raging crack epidemic, graffiti-strewn city. It was a writer’s dream as far as content went, which helped shape my ‘dark comic’ style of writing before moving to Los Angeles. I’ve always had a fascination with all
things Hollywood, so it’s no wonder I chose to live “here,” knowing I’ll always have a little of that jaded New Yorker humor in me that some people don’t get
— F%$ck! them!
